Private funds, made liquid.
Motte is a two-sided market for private fund interests, designed so that deals get done. Sellers list with an indicative price and the manager's consent already in place. Buyers post funded orders. When a bid meets an offer, the trade executes, and settlement and transfer run on one platform, so a sale completes in days, not months.
Every party, ready to close.
Limited Partners
Sell a fund interest through a confidential, competitive process on your timeline. See your indicative range before you list, and when a bid meets your terms, it closes.
Buyers
Secondary funds, fund-of-funds and family offices post funded buy orders at their price. Sellers compete to fill them, partial fills included, and a matched order executes.
General Partners
Give sellers in your funds a controlled route to liquidity, under your own brand if you choose. You approve buyers up front, so consent never holds up a close.
Distribution Partners
Private banks, wealth platforms and advisers offer clients liquidity through white-label or API access. You keep the client relationship; Motte runs execution through to close.
One platform, from listing to close.
A price set by competition from both sides.
Sellers can run a time-boxed auction or fill standing buy orders. Buyers compete on price either way, and the best price fills first. Bids are binding, so the winning price is the price that closes.
Every document permissioned, every view recorded.
Materials open by bidder tier and manager approval. Identities stay masked until the parties consent, and the audit trail is shared with everyone entitled to see it.
Sellers list. Buyers post demand. Motte closes the match.
Most secondary platforms wait for a seller to list, then hope a buyer turns up. On Motte, buyers can post funded orders first, so sellers see real, committed demand before deciding to sell.

Match, settle, close.
Days, not months.
A typical LP secondary sale takes months, and too many fall over before they close: price expectations drift, consent arrives late, bids aren't firm and paperwork stalls. Motte deals with each of those before or during the sale. Pricing, consent, funded demand, binding execution, settlement and transfer run on one platform, so a sale or a buy order can complete in days.
Illustrative. Timing depends on the manager's consent and the fund's transfer process.

Common questions.
Who is Motte for?
Sellers looking to exit fund interests, buyers looking to acquire them, managers who want a controlled liquidity route for sellers in their funds, and Distribution Partners serving private clients.
Are bids binding?
Yes. Buyers are verified, approved by the manager and funds confirmed before bidding, so when a bid meets a seller's terms, the trade executes. Sellers are never obliged to accept a price below their reserve.
What if my interest doesn't sell?
Nothing sells below your terms. You can leave the listing open to new demand, adjust it, or withdraw it.
Do you provide investment advice?
No. Motte provides infrastructure and workflow tooling. Participants should rely on their own advisors as appropriate.
Is liquidity guaranteed?
No. Motte is built to close: a matched trade executes. Whether a match happens still depends on demand, eligibility, manager consent and the fund's transfer restrictions.
What information is shared with bidders?
Only what the manager permits and each bidder is entitled to see. Access is permissioned by bidder tier and every view is recorded.
How does pricing work?
Our pricing engine models the fund's cash flows, fees and projected exits to give an indicative range as a percentage of NAV. The final price is set by competition, either in an auction or against funded buy orders.
How are interests transferred?
Settlement runs through a trust and fund administration structure with an independent administrator. The buyer receives either the LP interest itself or a digital interest in it, and the record updates for every party.
